Dickens of a Christmas
About Dickens of a Christmas
In 2024, welcoming a record 150,000 visitors, the Dickens of a Christmas festival transforms historic downtown Franklin into a Victorian wonderland reminiscent of Charles Dickens’ era. Utilizing the charming architecture of the area as a perfect backdrop, the event features a variety of musicians, dancers, and beloved Dickens characters who bring the spirit of the 19th century to life. Festival-goers can expect to encounter characters such as the crafty Fagin from Oliver Twist; Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Cratchit family from A Christmas Carol; along with a Victorian Father and Mother Christmas distributing treats to the children. Produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, this festival offers an immersive, festive experience that celebrates the richness of the Christmas season and the timeless appeal of Dickens' classic tales.
