Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County proudly host their inaugural Christkindlmarkt during the tree-lighting ceremony on December 6th, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Celebrating cultural connections, this festive gathering at the Five Points area features exclusive commemorative mugs available at the local post office, with sales supporting the event and broader cultural missions. Festival-goers will enjoy traditional German music by Polkawagen, savor culinary treats from diverse food vendors, and shop for authentic German Christmas ornaments. The event also caters to families with a dedicated Kinder Corner providing art activities for children, promising a vibrant celebration for all ages. In tandem, the City of Franklin is set to dazzle with the 2024 Christmas Tree Lighting on the Square, sponsored by Middle Tennessee Electric. This beloved event features free photos with Santa, provided by Mars Petcare, including a Pet Friendly hour from 5:00-6:00 pm. The evening will spotlight performances by Matthew West, a highly decorated Christian music artist, and opening act John-Mark McGaha, along with local choirs and community groups adding to the holiday cheer. The tree lighting is scheduled for 7:15 PM, marking a highlight of the community's festive season.
